A banda está lançando a segunda rodada, desta vez como #GetTheReLoadOut, para comemorar o relançamento de “ReLoad” com uma nova segunda categoria: além das covers mais tradicionais, artistas performáticos e visuais também estão convidados a participar. Uma faixa diferente do álbum será destacada a cada semana durante a competição, culminando com dois vencedores do Grande Prêmio, cada um levando para casa uma “ReLoad Remastered Limited Edition Deluxe Box Set” autografada pelo Metallica.

 

Lançado originalmente em 18 de novembro de 1997, “ReLoad” foi o terceiro álbum consecutivo do Metallica a estrear em primeiro lugar na Billboard 200, permanecendo por quase 80 semanas na parada e alcançando o primeiro lugar em seis países, além de figurar entre os dez primeiros em quase mais uma dúzia. As sessões de 1995 a 1997 no estúdio The Plant, em Sausalito, Califórnia, que resultaram nos álbuns “ReLoad” e “Load”, viram James Hetfield, Lars Ulrich, Kirk Hammett e Jason Newsted explorando novos territórios criativos e expandindo os limites da identidade sonora do Metallica. Em “ReLoad”, isso significou decisões ousadas, que vão desde a inclusão de hurdy gurdy (viela de roda, um instrumento medieval) e violino na sombria “Low Man’s Lyric” até a participação especial marcante da cantora Marianne Faithfull em “The Memory Remains”. Assim como seu antecessor de 1996, “ReLoad” viu seu prestígio crescer ano após ano desde o lançamento.
