Em turnê pela América Latina, banda norte-americana retornou com shows explosivos e repleto de hits
O Living Colour esteve de passagem pela América Latina em Outubro. Em São Paulo, a banda se apresentou no sábado, dia 12 de outubro, no Tokio Marine Hall. A turnê ainda passou por Rio de Janeiro, Belo Horizonte, Brasília, Chile e Argentina.
Esta foi a primeira vinda da banda após a explosiva participação no Rock in Rio 2022, no qual se apresentaram ao lado do consagrado guitarrista Steve Vai, em um dos melhores shows de todo o festival. Curiosamente, a primeira vinda do Living Colour ao país também foi em um grande festival: Hollywood Rock, em 1992, com shows em São Paulo e Rio de Janeiro. No total, estiveram dez vezes no Brasil.
O Living Colour é uma banda de rock norte-americana, formada em Nova Iorque no ano de 1984. A formação conta com o guitarrista Vernon Reid, o vocalista Corey Glover, o baterista Will Calhoun e o baixista Doug Wimbish. A música do conjunto é uma fusão criativa influenciada pelo free jazz, funk, hard rock e heavy metal. Por sua vez, as letras variam de aspectos pessoais aos políticos, em alguns dos últimos casos, atacando o eurocentrismo e o racismo na América.
O grupo tem seis álbuns de estúdio lançados. Alcançaram a fama com o disco de estreia, Vivid, em 1988. Entre grandes sucessos, está o imenso hit “Cult of Personality”, que ganhou um Grammy de Melhor Performance de Hard Rock em 1990. Foram nomeados Melhor Artista Revelação no MTV Video Music Awards de 1989 e ganharam outro Grammy com o álbum Time’s Up (1990). Após um hiato, se reuniram no final de 2000 e lançaram mais três trabalhos: Collideøscope (2003), The Chair in the Doorway (2009) e Shade (2017).
