“Merry Christmas” oferece ao público uma dose perfeita de celebração natalina – embrulhada com sininhos de trenó, arranjos pendurados e harmonias alegres, com as letras afetuosas de Ed e Elton que só acrescentam brilho à canção: “So kiss me under the mistletoe / Pour out the wine let’s toast and pray for December snow / I know there’s been pain this year but it’s time to let it go / Next year you never know, but for now, Merry Christmas” (“Então me beije debaixo da árvore de natal/ encha a taça de vinho, vamos brindar à neve de dezembro/ Eu sei que houve dor esse ano mas é tempo de deixar ir/ No próximo ano você nunca vai saber mas, por hora, Feliz Natal”, em tradução livre).
