The War On Drugs apresenta “I Don’t Live Here Anymore”, faixa-título do seu novo álbum e primeiro em quatro anos, que sai no dia 29 de outubro pela Atlantic Records. “I Don’t Live Here Anymore” é um álbum de rock fora dos padrões sobre um dos mais comuns porém difíceis processos – a resiliência face ao desespero.  No começo de “I Don’t Live Here Anymore,” o líder da banda Adam Granduciel canta “I was lying in my bed, a creature void of form/Been so afraid of everything, I need a chance to be reborn” (eu estava deitado na minha cama, uma criatura vazia/ com tanto medo de tudo, eu precisava de uma chance para renascer) nos lembrando sobre a batalha universal por redenção. Co-produzido por Granduciel e Shawn Everett, a música apresenta backing vocals vibrantes dos convidados Lucius. Junto, eles cantam: “We’re all just walkin’ through this darkness on our own.” (Nós todos estamos caminhando pela escuridão em nós mesmos).

 

O vídeo de “I Don’t Live Here Anymore”, dirigido por Emmett Malloy, foi filmado em Los Angeles, e faz referência a vídeos clássicos de rock and roll do passado.

“I Don’t Live Here Anymore“ é o primeiro álbum de estúdio do The War On Drugs desde que ganharam o Grammy na categoria melhor álbum de rock em 2018. Gravado no período de três anos em sete estúdios diferentes, ele culminou em muitas outras sessões por Los Angeles e Nova York. Granduciel e Everett levaram incontáveis horas lapidando cada trecho dessas canções e as reconstruindo, jogando com a combinação particular da banda de complexidade e imaginação.

 

Na última semana, The War On Drugs apresentou  a abertura do álbum “I Don’t Live Here Anymore”, “Living Proof”, na nova temporada de The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. Depois de uma apresentação no Desert Daze em novembro,  eles vão excursionar com esse álbum em janeiro de 2022, visitando alguns dos maiores locais nos quais já tocaram, como seu primeiro grande show na Madison Square Garden.
