Banda consagrada do post-punk, Gang of Four em SP para shows no Sesc Pompéia

A banda inglesa Gang of Four se apresentará no Sesc Pompéia, nos dias 22 e 23 de novembro.

Criado no final dos anos 70, em Leeds, na Inglaterra, o grupo ficou conhecido por ser um dos pioneiros do post-punk, vertente do punk rock. A Gang of Four inspirou diversas bandas pelo mundo e também no Brasil, como Titãs e Legião Urbana.

 

O grupo esteve ativo entre 1977 e 1984. Após um período de idas e vindas, a banda voltou com tudo em 2005. Ela ressurgiu com o sucesso de novas bandas influenciadas pelo pós-punk, como The Rapture, Franz Ferdinand e Bloc Party.

Desde então, a banda já lançou dois novos álbuns. Atualmente, é composta por Andy Gill (guitarra), Thomas McNiece (baixo), John “Gaoler” Sterry (voz) e Jonny Finnigan (bateria).
