Galápagos Rising – Lançamento EP “…and yesterday all the stars fell on earth”

“Galápagos Rising” é um projeto de Murilo Neumann (guitarrista na Locomotiva Elétrica). Compondo, gravando e produzindo os sons dentro do seu próprio quarto, o projeto nasceu da vontade de fundir o minimalismo e o ambient music de Brian Eno e Harold Budd à músicas baseadas em riffs repetitivos de guitarra.

 

Esse conceito fica evidente no primeiro EP lançado, em março de 2020, Scientific Ancestral. Após outros três lançamentos, em fevereiro de 2021 se iniciou a composição e gravação do quarto EP, “…and yesterday all the stars fell on earth”.

 

Com a inclusão de beats, o músico buscou um novo direcionamento ao som, ganhando mais liberdade e dinamismo na criação das músicas.

 

…and yesterday all the stars fell on earth possui 6 músicas e abaixo seguem breves comentários sobre cada uma delas:

 

1- Deaf Song – Part I – Composta imediatamente após assistir ao filme “The Sound of Metal”, é a única música sem beats do EP. Possui uma atmosfera misteriosa conduzida por um riff calmo e repetitivo.

 

2 – Big Bang – Primeira música onde foram utilizados beats, possui uma estrutura tradicional, quase lembrando um rock and roll.

 

3 – Power Station – É a última música composta para o EP. Foi composta a partir da composição do beat e possui uma atmosfera que lembra em alguns momentos até mesmo o trip hop. Ganhou o nome em homenagem a banda Kraftwerk.

 

4 – Midnight is Where the Day Begins – Inspirada acidentalmente pela música Lemon, do U2, talvez seja quase dançante.

 

5 – Aurora Borealis – Outra música com uma estrutura mais tradicional, em certos momentos lembra um indie das festas dos anos 2010.

 

6 – 1979 – Nascida do beat e do sintetizador, suas versões iniciais remetiam aos anos 80. De repente, virou quase um blues.”
