Serpentine Prison, o disco solo de estreia altamente antecipado de Matt Berninger, vocalista do The National, já foi lançado. Produzido pelo famoso multi-instrumentista de Memphis Booker T. Jones, o álbum está disponível através da Book’s Records, um novo selo formado por Berninger e Jones em conjunto com a Concord Records.

Berninger performará uma seleção do novo álbum amanhã no programa da CBS “This Morning: Saturday” e “The Tonight Show with Stephen Colbert” dia 22 de outubro.

 

Serpentine Prison apresenta contribuições de uma ampla gama de artistas notáveis, incluindo Matt Barrick (The Walkmen, Jonathan Fire * Eater), Andrew Bird, Mike Brewer, Hayden Desser, Scott Devendorf (The National, LNZNDRF), Gail Ann Dorsey (David Bowie, Lenny Kravitz), Booker T. Jones, Teddy Jones, Brent Knopf (EL VY, Menomena), Ben Lanz (The National, Beirut, LNZNDRF), Walter Martin (The Walkmen, Jonathan Fire * Eater), Sean O’Brien, Mickey Raphael (Willie Nelson, Bob Dylan), Kyle Resnick (The National, Beirute), Matt Sheehy (EL VY, Lost Lander) e Harrison Whitford (Phoebe Bridgers). A produção adicional do álbum foi fornecida por Sean O’Brien.

 

Além de suas funções como frontman do aclamado grupo de rock The National, com quem ganhou o prêmio Grammy de Melhor Álbum de Música Alternativa por Sleep Well Beast 2017, Berninger também colaborou com Brent Knopf (Ramona Falls, Menomena) sob o apelido de EL VY por o lançamento de 2015 Return to the Moon. Em 2019, Berninger apareceu em Between Two Ferns: The Movie e se juntou a Phoebe Bridgers para contribuir com a música “Walking on a String” para a trilha sonora do filme.
